Washington County Genealogy Records

Washington's 39 counties each hold their own set of genealogy records. County auditors maintain marriage records going back to each county's founding and held birth and death registers before statewide registration began in 1907. County clerks hold probate files, divorce records, and court case files. County assessors hold land records and tax rolls. Many of these collections are searchable through the Washington State Digital Archives, and all five regional branches of the Washington State Archives serve specific county groups.
